The Oxford Test Of English is a computer-adaptive test of general English language proficiency.

Developed by Oxford University Press and certified by Oxford University, it is more flexible, cheaper and faster than traditional proficiency tests.

The Oxford Test Of English is a certification of general English language proficiency. It assesses the ability to understand and communicate effectively, referring to three levels of the qcer: B2, B1 and A2.

Conduct of the test The test analyses all four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The reading and listening modules are computer adaptive, which means that the test adjusts the difficulty of the questions according to the participant’s answers, making the test more motivating, shorter and providing a more precise measurement than traditional proficiency tests. The speaking and writing modules use randomisation of tasks, making each test a personalised experience.
